The morning had come grey and still, the fog hanging low over the harbour. Thomas stood at the window a long while without moving, watching the boats disappear into the white distance. He had the letter in his hand still, unopened, its wax seal cold against his thumb.
Chapter II. The road north was longer than she remembered, the miles marked only by the slow change of trees — oak giving way to pine, then pine to bare rock and wind.
It was the kind of silence that has weight. She pressed her pen to the page and found she had nothing left to say, and that this, too, was a kind of ending.
She folded the letter carefully, twice, then a third time — a habit since childhood — and placed it beneath the loose board beside the writing desk. No one would find it there. No one had ever looked.
The last entry in the journal read simply: arrived. No date. No hour. Just the one word in his careful hand, and beneath it, a long clean line where the pen had rested before he set it down for good.

How it works
Upload once. Get a full story analysis.
Scriptorai reads your entire manuscript, chapter by chapter, and surfaces what matters — so you can focus on writing.
1
Upload your manuscript
Drop or choose a DOCX or TXT file — a single chapter, a few chapters, or your full novel. Files up to several hundred thousand words are supported.
2
AI reads it chapter by chapter
Your manuscript is split into chunks and each one is read in sequence. The AI tracks characters, storylines, and open questions across every chapter — not just in isolation.
3
Story threads & plot holes are surfaced
Scriptorai identifies unresolved threads — subplots left hanging, character arcs that drop off, foreshadowing that never pays off — and groups them so nothing slips through.
4
Your report is ready automatically
When analysis finishes you're taken straight to your breakdown — threads by chapter, resolution status, and the full picture of your story in one place.
Credits: each word in your manuscript uses 1 credit. Longer manuscripts take a few minutes — grab a coffee while we work.
